Are the handle knobs the same size on both reels?

Handle length on the models we have are the same but the US model knobs are about 25% larger... specifically longer and a little wider at the end on the US model.

I wonder why there is a Made in Japan model and a Made in Thailand model???

I was able to take it out for a while today, it’s some piece of machinery.
