Another Standout Build from LEGIT Design, the SOC70H

Encouraged by my experience with my first StandOut series rod from Legit Design, the SOC66L+ BFS stick, I wanted to see if that positive experience would translate to a more conventional specification. This curiosity coincided with my need for a stick to probe some weedbeds with some good ole fashioned, one ounce bullet weighted Texas rigged soft plastics. The StandOut stick for this task? How about their SOC70H. Let's see how it fared.

Another excellent write up Cal, thanks for putting in the work. This rod has me intrigued as well, especially given the price.

Also Cal, are these guides SIC or Alconite? The TW site reflects Alconite.

Alconite would make more sense at the price point, but i was under the impression they were SiC ... will have to re-investigate

Koolio, thanks Cal. Alconites are an excellent and durable all-purpose guide. SIC are a nice upgrade but honestly not needed for most bass fishing.

Has anyone tried this stick with glides in the ~1.5 ounce range (i.e. osakana slide 170, S-waver 168, 6 in mag draft)? I don't see it mentioned in the review but if it has a MF taper I assume it would be possible?

As long as your bait falls within the rod's ratings, glides should be fine on it.
