Putting the "What?" in Creature Baits, the Deps Bull Flat
Introduction: If there's a correlation between abstract art and bass fishing, it's within the bait category of soft plastic creatures. Can you imagine the bait profiles Picasso would have dreamed up were he a bass fisherman? The crawfish has got to be the most interpreted little bass morsel in this category but recently, there's been an influx of profiles abstracted from another popular bass meal, the bluegill. Similar to the crawfish, some of these soft plastic imitations are quite literal, but others, well, what? Today, we take a look at one such "what?" bait from Deps, the Bull Flat.

Howdy all. Has anyone fished the 5.8 Bull Flat as well as the 5.8 Geecrack Bellows Gill? I've fished the Geecrack 5.8, but haven't laid hands on the Deps.
I'm assuming the tail action of the Deps will be more pronounced than the Bellows Gill.
I fish the 5.8 Bellows Gill t-rigged at night in the summer and have just about had the rod yanked out of my hands.

I fish both the 5.8 Bellows and 5.8 Bullflat regularly. Honestly, the tail action on the Bullflat is no more pronounced than the Bellows Gill but it certainly works. It should be noted that the Bullflat feels significantly heavier then the Bellows. According to to the Deps website the Bullflat is 1.6 ounces. I'm not sure what the Bellows weighs but I'd guess somewhere in the 3/4-1ounce range

Great stuff; thank you.
Do they approximately have the same profile?

Just used this lure two days ago and got a 10 pound four ounce bass out of 19' of water.
That bite was epic and finally got me into the double digit mark. OG Fuego tuned putting in work with a Z bone rod and 16lb test.
I cant not wait for another day to get out with this lure and run this rig.

Personally, I prefer the deps over the bellows. The bellows feels like it gets heavier after being in the water while the bull flat is consistent. I have used both and I like the mini bellows for small jigs.

10-4; thank you kindly. I also like the small Geecrack for jigging up walleye.
Congrats on the hoss!
