6'10 Medium Omen
Is the 6'10 medium omen a fast or extra fast action? American legacy lists it as an extra fast, and tacklewarehouse lists it as fast.
Thanks

The 13 website lists it as fast.

It's fast. I love that rod. I liked it so much I had to buy another one actually.

Re: 6'10 Medium Omen
Thank you. That's what I was hoping to hear.5bites wrote:It's fast. I love that rod. I liked it so much I had to buy another one actually.
I am getting one for 4" wacky rig stick baits, smaller t-rigs (1/8-3/16 oz weights with trick worms, smaller craws), the occasional 1/4 oz bladed swim jig, and the occasional 1/4-1/2 oz jerkbait with 10 - 12 lb line. I will be putting a ch 51e on it too. How do you think it will handle?
Re: 6'10 Medium Omen
I think its a perfect rod for that. I can't imagine you being disappointed!
I've bought 8 of these 13 fishing rods lately and have been impressed so far. Maybe I'll do a few user reviews after I get more time on them.

Afrayedknot,
The OBC610M Omen Black casting rod is a "Fast" action. Looks like American Legacy has a typo....Tackle Warehouse has it correct.

Re: 6'10 Medium Omen
Thanks, Matt. I emailed AL about it and they fixed it.
I am having a bit of trouble deciding between the 6'7 M and the 6'10 M. What would you say is the biggest difference between these two rods besides length obviously?
It looks like the handle is 12.5" on the 6'7 M and 13.75" on the 6'10 M.
Anyone else who owns both, feel free to chime in!
Others can answer this question as well:
What weight reel balances best with the 6'7 and 6'10? I am going to put a 51e (7.4 oz) on whatever rod I end up getting.
Thanks!

Re: 6'10 Medium Omen
I put my px type r w/8lb flourocarbon on one of my 6-10's the other night with your post in mind. I was pitching a 1/4 finesse jig in the yard with it. It worked very well. It worked quite a bit better than the 7-1 medium imo. It's a little faster I believe.
Re: 6'10 Medium Omen
Afrayedknot,
This is a tough decision because the rods are very similar. I would suggest if this is going to be strictly a finesse set-up you would go with the 6'7" rod with the smaller, lighter, and shorter handle. The difference in weight between the two models is only 5 grams...so it is minimal but might make a difference to you.

Re: 6'10 Medium Omen
I've got 6 Omen Black rods and the 6'10" Medium is probably my favorite. I have 2 of them in that model. One wears an 8.1:1 Concept C, 12 Seguar Senshi Mono, and makes a fine fine fine rig for tossing 3/8 ounce buzzbaits. It's deadly accurate and the 8.1:1 planes a buzzbait immediately with a nice slow reeling cadence. I'll also throw topwater plugs on it - Ricos, Sammy's, etc. Wonderful.
The other wears a Chronarch 50 right now and I'll pitch light T-Rigs with it, craws and tubes. Great setup.
Good luck!
