7'1" Omen Black A model

Considering the more moderate action of the a model rods, how would the 7'1" work for throwing 1/8th to 1/4 oz crankbaits?

I think this would be a decent choice for the bait size you mention...however it will be at the upper limits of what the rod was designed for. The light action model you describe would be better suited for smaller than 1/4oz.

I suggest that you take a look at the ML actions that will come out in a few weeks in the Muse Gold series, these will be significantly more moderate actions and have the perfect ratings for your desired lure weight.
