Just buy the old ones on close out.

It looks acs/ish to me. I hope it's not like the acs.
Looks more like the new Fuji PTS seat to me. Not quite, but similar.

I didn't even notice. Hopefully the production rods have the open hanger like the current rods. Otherwise that's a step in the wrong direction.

Appearance-wise reminds me of the MB Frog Game Special.

Glad the split grip is gone. Wish they'd do the same for the Envy. Hope they made the handles a little longer.

Their model names have me thinking they will have a few select models with split grip. For example, under 7'1" MH, they have two models names:

OB2C71MH
and
OB2C71MH-2

which I think is an indication that the latter will be the split grip model. I personally like split grips.. wouldn't hurt to accommodate both preferences :)

I'm glad they're doing away with that awful silver thing they had going on the top of the handle. But either way, I'm still baffled by what this $100ish rod has to offer. Best bang for your buck around this price range.

I would think OB2C71MH-2 would mean it is a 2 piece rod not a spilt grip.

Something tells me you'll see a variation of an Omen in the semi-near future with that split grip option. ICAST will show a few things off in the prototype stage. Should be fun.

Going with that Vince Lombardi method...show the playbook, come get us. :D

Thanks,
Jim

Will these be built on the exact same blank as the current omens? I'd love to see a 7'1" mh or h extra fast added to the list.

They will not be on the same blank. Something a touch nicer. And by touch, I mean they kick a whole pile of booty.

You may get your power and action; but, the length could be off an inch or four from your listed desires. This action has been one of the beasts when testing these OBS blanks. Ricky's done a good job of pairing down the AA actions into this future series.

Thanks,
Jim

I've seen a few prototypes rolling around the office the past few months. Something tells me it's cycle is coming up.

Thanks,
Jim

A little birdie told me that there are some prototype Omen split grip technique specific rods at Icast. Can't wait to see and hear about them.
