Concept kp and deep spare spool

Hello first off I wanna say I love 13 fishing reels have small hands lol.
So tackle warehouse had that great sell on the kp so I got a few and some spare spools.
My issue is when I use th spare spool it seems like something is catching on the inside.
I have to have the cast knob set just right or it hits and slows the spool down.
With the stock spool I can cast with any setting of the dial if anyone has any advice that would be great.
Also should I put oil on the extra spool or no?
