Great job on the Gary Dobyns article...

Post by dragon1 » Sun Jul 29, 2007 9:17 pm

Man, looks like you guys had a ball!! I think that his rod line-up is just great...happy to see that a big name is actually endorsing some fine products...unlike some other big names that are currently still competing and even retired.

Keep up the good work..

Oh, BTW, could ya send me a sample of that secret swimbait lure?

Thanks dragon1, it was a great time out. The new rods do look and feel pretty good. I usually liek to fish teh lighter stuff, so I have to downgrade one power level when fishing the Dobyns stuff, but no doubt Gary has put together a very intriguing offering.

Did you notice the new article feature, the gallery. http://www.tackletour.com/PhotoTour/gal ... lgary.html

JIP put that together, and in the future extra images will be added, including behind the scenes stuff.

I for one am very happy to see Lamiglas' products coming more into the limelight. They are top notch people who offer top notch products at a very high value to performance ratio. This is in part due to less advertising $$ than some other big names. In my search for high end blanks, I find that Lamiglass' stuff better than other big names costing 2-3 times more!

So kudos to Lamiglas too in addition to the editors who did a great review.

Just a note... the Dobyns Rods product shares the Lamiglas name only because Lamiglas is handling the distribution and warranty claim logistics for Gary Dobyns.

The Dobyns Rods product are made in an entirely different factory and overseas while the Lamiglas Product is still 95% made in their plant up in Woodland, Washington.

Cal, you're killing us with the suspense. Any clues? At least tell us when the review will be coming out. :P

Cal, was that secret swimbait being thrown on your Black Sheep reel? If so, it may be in one of your other pictures of Gary. Am I right??????

I think I know what the swimbait is  But if it is what I think is then it's not nearly as known as I thought it was.

By the way, excellent job. These rods have definitley piqued my interest.

Saturday, July 28th time to fish with Gary: 2:00 AM, Cal and I head out from the Bay Area to meet up with Gary.
Wow! Congratulations to you guys. Don't think I can do that anymore. Guess my all-nighters are a thing of the past. Great narrative and the gallery is a very nice feature.

Cal and Zander, I sit here in Georgia in my own pool of jealousy. That was a trip of a lifetime if you ask me. I can't believe Gary let you put them pet reels on his rods :)~ LOL. Great article!!
