No, P-Line doesn't "own" Sufix in the sense you're thinking of. He means "CXX pwns Siege" as the kids/hackers tend to say. owned/pwned/pwn3d...dragon1 wrote:Also, I did't realize that P-Line owned Sufix? (CXX owns Siege)
Most abrasion resistant mono?

Ahhhhaaa...
Thanx SLM...I must be gettin' too old to catch the slick stuff anymore.

Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
Although its expensive,i would suggest the before mentioned SUNLINE DEFIER or their MACHINEGUN CAST.Great stuff but again..pricey.
Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
sufix superior owns sufix seige for abrasion resistance
Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
Yes, but Superior is a SW line an thick in diameter...that being said I use it in 15lb for deep/big/slow-rolled SBs and this line is exceptionally strong and abrasion resistant. It does have more than average stretch though to handle the hard/long run of SW quarry.
Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
Superior is a SW only line ? who says ? I use it for bass fishing along a rocky shoreline and it holds up better in the rocks than anything else I've tried. Thick, yep, strong, yep. Works for me. The right tool for the right job.
Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
It is designed for SW...but who can make sure that any line is SW or FW only? That decision is ours to make.
Another big plus is the large bulk spools they come in along with a very low price.

Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
I would choose CXX over Sufix any day. I fished deep cranks in rocks with 10lb tritanium sufix (supposed to be highly abrasion resistant) with numerous break offs during hook ups and casts. Said never again. I fished the next week with 8lb CXX in the same places with zero problems. No Sufix line comes close to CXX.
Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
Superior is just as abrasion resistant as CXX IMO, but has more stretch. Also, it is a mono while the CXX is not.
Wasn't this is supposed to be a rec for the most abrasion resistant mono?

What i thought also ....XT IMO is the most abrasion resistantdragon1 wrote:Superior is just as abrasion resistant as CXX IMO, but has more stretch. Also, it is a mono while the CXX is not.

Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
Didn't Stren Original win a line comparison test a few years ago for Sportfisher Magazine? I believe it beat the competition by a longshot. Even some braids had a hard time competing if I remember correctly. Heck, I guess you can get away with just about anything if you check your line often. I have heard of people pulling big fish out of heavy cover with Trilene XL. Somewhere online a while back I read where one guy swore by XL. He said if the cover gets thick and tough, he simply uses heavier XL. Personally, I have no opinion on this as I use just about everything.

CXX isn't a monofilament??? What is it then?dragon1 wrote:Superior is just as abrasion resistant as CXX IMO, but has more stretch. Also, it is a mono while the CXX is not.
Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
It's a co-polymer
Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
Superior is a copolymer too. I just checked my spool.
Re: Most abrasion resistant mono?
CXX is both a copolymer and a monofilament--it's a monofilament fishing line made of copolymer.Bass Pro wrote:It's a co-polymer
Monofilament = single filament, as opposed to a line made of multiple filaments. The opposite of a monofilament would be a fishing line made of multiple filaments braided together, like PowerPro, etc.
Copolymer = refers to its formulation (ie, a mixture or combination of polymers versus the single nylon formulations of ye olde days).
Monofilmanents can also be made entirely of fluorocarbon, of which there are many...
