About to take the plunge
About to take the plunge
Hey all I am about to take the plunge into the JDM reels.
I am going to start with one for:
Unweighted soft plastics/Finesse applications and one for Spinnerbait/Hard Jerkbaits.
I am thinking of going with one of these for the finesse, Pixy, Alpha Type F, or Scorpion Mg 1000
Now for the Spinnerbait / Hard Jerkbait reel, I am kind of clueless.
Just wondering what you guys might reccomend for either of these 2 types as I might be way off base here.
Thanks

Finesse I would def go Pixy for those apps..
AB reel Id go Met MG or if you want enthusiast go with a TDZ type R+.. The Daiwa Zillion would also be a nice reel along with the New HLC zil.

I agree with skeet on the Pixy for finesse
As for the spinner baits and hardbaits, consider a Zillion, Alphas Type F, or maybe the new Alphas 150
Good luck!

I'd vote "Pixy" for the finese for sure.
I'd recommend the original Purple Alphas as a spinnerbait and hard jerk bait reel. It was my first JDM and I still love it to death..it can really do pretty much everything plus looks very cool.

I don't know if you have already decided, but obviously, you can't go wrong with the Pixy for light stuff. If you don't have unlimited budget, maybe a Curado 100 for the jerk and spinnerbait?

I'd say Pixy for the finesse/weightless stuff...
For spinnerbaits/jerkbaits...JDM reel...I'd say either Metanium XT, or a Steez, maybe a Metanium Mg7..
