Rod gel epoxy?

Post by btune » Mon Mar 07, 2011 5:26 am

I need to order some more epoxy rod gel. I have used Rod Bond for years but wanted to check to see if there is anything that is better, not just new but better? Let me add that I have no issues with rod bond just checking.

I assume you mean the Roddancer stuff?

They make good stuff and I don't think you'd be dissapointed. I also don't think you'll jump for joy and wonder how you got along without it.

I use the 5 minute stuff for tip tops and other minor items.

I use the Rod Bond Quik-Bond for some things.

I mostly use standard Rod Bond. Probably because I can get it in the big 16 ounce kit.

Mud Hole calls theirs Pro Bond. I will just stick with Rod Bond regular since I know what it does. I too use the 5 minute stuff for tips and such' I just wondered if anything out there was better? I am way to slow for fast cure Rod Bond!! Thanks Matt.

Ive used both pro bond quick and rod bond. They both work great for me. The pro bond is thinner. I use it for inlays and assembling grips before turning mostly and stick to rodbond for anything getting glued to the blank. I do a lot of split reel seats and the rodbond just holds. I haven't tried probond for reel seats. Why mess with what works?
