Yep... Looks like the right thing. Those should fit on most any mandrel. The opening is a bit big so I like to use a mandrel with a large screw thread so it centers better. Just need to get some polish compound and your good to go. I use the Fabluster, it works great on reel parts. These are good prices on the brushes.juggernoob wrote:Found some on Amazon. the teeth i have not tried to polish...BUT, the other surfaces are polished for a specific reason; it is done to improve smoothness of engage/dis-engage of the reel.DougL58 wrote:The gear teeth are what counts... the rest is for show/fun.

Do you start with the medium brush and then finish with the soft brush?DougL58 wrote:Yep... Looks like the right thing. Those should fit on most any mandrel. no sanding just straight simichrome?
Re: Polish this !
No sanding.. If working by hand use the Simichrome and clean cloths. You can use Q-Tips or a tooth pick with a wrap of paper towel or TP to reach tight spots. The very best is using a Dremel with the natural brush and the Fabluster.Finnz922 wrote:no sanding just straight simichrome?
When applying the Fabluster you spin the brush lightly on the polish and then work a small spot on the metal. As the heat and friction increases the Fabluster will transfer to the metal in a dark coating. Continue working the Dremel brush over the area. It will then begin to remove the coating. This is where the poishing happens. Slow speed on the Dremel is good enough, 5000 rpm. Any faster melts the polish as you touch the brush to it, which you don't want.
Re: Polish this !
Geez, this makes my polishing look very pathetic, I need to pick up some of that Fabluster! Thanks for the great post.

Wondering the same thing, should we order the mediums and the soft brushes as well? Was also wondering how much Fabulustre should be applied? Should 4oz be enough, or should I opt for the 16oz size?juggernoob wrote:Do you start with the medium brush and then finish with the soft brush?DougL58 wrote:Yep... Looks like the right thing. FindingKing, their shop is just down the street from me. This is where I get supplies. You can also order the Fabuluster from them. You sure can try the Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish . I would think it will work but the Fabuluster is a fine jewelry polish.juggernoob wrote:Found some on Amazon. Do the wheels fit on a standard Dremel 402 Mandrel?
Can you use Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish instead of Fabulustre?

Re: Polish this !
Great posts, guys! I have a cheap Chinese rotary tool that really is too slow to perform like a Dremel. I have used it with SimiChrome polish for years, but never had a brush attachment that would polish the gear teeth. Time to get that Dremel for Fathers Day!

Home Depot has the Dremel 300 on sale. Does anyone know if the two bristle brushes in the accessary kit are natural fiber?
Thanks, TB

Have not looked at the set so I do not know. You will need more than 2 brushes. Order from FindingKing. Not too expensive. Get the Fabuluster too.Texas_bullet wrote:Home Depot has the Dremel 300 on sale. Does anyone know if the two bristle brushes in the accessary kit are natural fiber?

Re: Polish this !
Has anyone used the Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish yet?
I got some on hand and want to polish up my gears.
Any tips would be awesome, I have never polished any gears before, I open my reels and do my own Maintenance.
Bearings/cleaning/ every few months so I'm not novice or anything.
