Tackle and Fishing Stuff Storage at Home Ideas

Post by ptorlax18 » Fri Apr 22, 2011 1:04 am

So i am really starting to get over run with my tackle in my new apartment. I was wondering if any of you guys have any sweet setups at home that i can check out to get some ideas of what i can do. I dont have a room dedicated to fishing or a "work room" that i can leave stuff hanging out. I kinda want my stuff to be hidden when im not using it. Any ideas would be sweet dont be shy lets see some set ups

why would you want to hide the awesomeness? :-s

When I lived in my apartment I thing honestly the best thing to get is a rod rack if you dont have one already...you would be surprised at how much more organized your room will look with a rack instead of rods everywhere....

also, I just stack up my plano 3700s on the floor (after a day on the water I leave them all open to air out overnight) and a tackle bag full of worms next to them...it honestly doesnt take up that much space you would be surprised how much you can organize with nothing...

now this all depends on how much stuff you actually have...I only have 10 plano boxes full of lures and a tackle bag full of plastics and 8 combos on the rod rack....

ahhh yes, well if it was just me in the apartment their would be a shrine to my tackle  However for my girlfriends sake and my own quirkiness i need to be organized and neat.

I do have a horizontal rod that holds 12 combos hanging on the wall next to my dinning room table haha. BUt you are right it is very organized looking and a conversation piece

But i do need a work station.. I have your run of the mill IKEA desk with just legs as of right now, so i have no where store any thing. everything is just piled under the desk and on top. I was contemplating building a storage system underneath so i was looking for ideas of what others have. I have 13 3700 plano tackle boxes and 5 gallong sized ziplocks full of soft plastics. Kinda crazy all this stuff with no bass boat... :crying:

ill take a picture of my mess so you can see what im talking about

Have you seen those stackable plastic shoe box drawer things? I have no idea how else to better explain it than that...but it's like...well, I found a product link. Hopefully it doesn't get removed, but: http://www.amazon.com/Sterilite-2834800 ... d_sim_hg_5

You can use this at home and separate all your plastics and stuff by category. I have one box full of worms, one with craws, one with creatures, etc.

I use a plano shelving unit i got at Menards for 13 bucks. Works great 3700 box's. The blue b ins hold plastic packs perfectly 97 cents each. Hang musky lures on the side and ice fishing rods on the other with 3m command it hooks. You could put it anywhere out of the way if you dont want it to be seen but why not lol.

Here's mine, pretty simple. Rods are hanging along the wall. Pegboard for my most used stuff. A cabinet and shelf for plastic boxes. Simple, but effective.

Some of the outfits live in this.

Plano 3700 boxes are a good fit in a normal office filing cabinet.

hmm....

i feel like i'm the only one that has stuff scattered all over the damn place, (yet knows where every single hook is.)

i think some of these ideas will motivate me to clean up my fishing room.

Good to see that I'm not the only one with more tackle than I'll ever use... :D
