Curado 200g

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Curado 200g

Post by BassCatDan » Mon Sep 05, 2011 8:26 am

Now that the intial shock of the discontinuation of the 200e and 50e has begun to wear off, does anyone plan on purchasing a 200G to see how they perform?

I am going to pick up a couple more closeouts and have a stash of the Es. Wouldn't be opposed to one of the G series once we get reviews on them.

I'm interested in comparisons of the new curado g and the old citica e. I'm sure the new cur. will be a decent reel, its just too bad that they used less bearings.

At the end of the day I will probably buy one to try. Why not. I have been buying Curados since 1997. We may all be pleasantly surprised. Stores should be getting them soon I think.

I'm with you. I'll eventually pick up one or more to give them a shot. I like to actually use a reel and spend some time with it before passing judgement myself

didn't care for the e7 but, was actually impressed with how smoothly the e5 handled dd-22's and fat cb d-20's...am sure gear ratio had a bit to do with this.

time will tell on the g's.
don't cry because it's over...smile because it happened.

I love the E5 and 7, I wish they would leave some reel as is!

They did leave the Curado E the same, it's just called a Chronarch now...

I am personally disappointed in the new Curado G's, such a down grade from the E series. the new chronarch is just a Curado E with a new paint job. I will not be purchaseing a G, I am going to try and stock up on the E's before there gone...

I have 4 200E reels and 1 50E. No complaints from me, yet I find the 200D5 smoother than the 200E, possibly because of rigidity provided by the extra 1+ ounce of metal. (All have ceramic spool bearings.) I see no compelling reason to even try a G model considering the "de-contenting".

I don't think I'll be getting the G but I always thought the caenan looked nice and was comfortable as well.
