Re: Your Next Reel Purchase?
I was in the "no new reels this year" mode, but I was intrigued by the threads on the Conquest 50 reels.
So I bought a 51S, and it's on its way.
I would also buy a high end reel with a low gear ratio to use with larger cranks, jerkbaits, etc.

JDM left hand Revo's. Lots of choices and decent prices from tackle dealers in Malaysia.

Been eyeing a Scorpion DC and a Vanquish. Already bought a handful of rods, need some reels.

I believe that I went through a "new reel" phase over the past two years, with my acquiring two Steez, three Core's, two Zillions, and a TDZ 105HL. All were bought in like-new condition from people here on TT. Also acquired three new Lew's Tournament Pro's, two of which I have sold. I got into the Lew's when I ran into pro angler Jason Quinn in a small tackle shop near Lake Wiley, SC. He recommended Lew's very highly.
My reel acquisitions have gone through phases. I began baitcasting seven or eight years ago, starting with Cabela's Prodigy reels and moving up to higher and higher quality reels until I reached the high level where I am right now. In the process, I bought and sold many reels, and it's been a learning experience.

Got my eyes on a daiwa Steez 100hs JDM. With an Ito 80mm carbon fiber handle. As of now the highest speed reel I own is 6.8:1 ratio and the 7.1:1 is up my alley.

Pulled the trigger on a Shimano Twinpower C3000 today, from Japan! $347 to my door!
Most money I ever spent on a Spinning reel!! Now, for a suitable rod!
