Abu Revo Gen 3

We've already reviewed the Premier and have a review of the Abu Revo Gen 3 S model coming very soon, but we have several more models at HQ waiting to be fished. Which model are you most excited to read about in a traditional TT detailed review?

I picked the MGXtreme. I'd like to see if the lightest baitcaster in the world is a dud or a keeper.

I'm likely the only knucklehead who picked the SX, but I'm curious on those magnetic brakes being it's the only version with just

I'd like to see the SX also, to see how the brakes work on it.

I picked the SX as well, I want to see more of the durablility aspect of it. I hear about the thumb bar sticking all the time. All the bad reviews for it made me buy Shimanos which I'm loving BTW

Heck, I'd like to see a review of the whole line, a "cook off" if you will. Is a Premier worth the extra bucks over an STX?

STX

With all the centrifugal brakes off, its effectively a SX. Basically 2 reviews with 1 reel.

For sure STX. Lews tournament pro got its review. Many post on many forums are about which reel TP or STX is better. It's basically a preference things coming from users. Would be nice to see how TT scores the STX.

Technically, the MGXtreme is only a 2nd generation reel, but it got my vote. STX would be a close 2nd, though.

It's too bad you don't have the SW models up as choices. I'd love to see reviews on the NaCL and the Inshore. In lieu of those, probably the MGXtreme and perhaps a thumbnail comparison with a Steez. Many seem to think the MGXtreme is ABU Garcia's response to enthusiast demands in comparison to the Steez. Might be interesting to see how close they've come. I know I'd like to know having both the std. MGX and the Steez 103HA. :D

If the STX is picked, I'm curious to see if the STX reviewed has the same issue with the brakes as I've had with both the S, and my Gen 3 STX. Seems those tabs wanna come unlocked during a cast, so brakes that you have set to OFF turn themselves ON during the cast. Talked to a CSR at Abu, and they are aware of the problem.

I've never had that issue with my Gen3 STX, nor have I heard of it. I'll be keeping my eye on it, though.

I have 4 of the Gen 3 STX reels and have not had any problems with the brakes turning themselves on.

Yes it will turn itself on...encounter twice in different gen 3 reels.

My friend wiped the brake tab with zippo and it solve the problem..is a design flaw for sure,,
