Seems like line capacity is an issue unless you limit to use of pe or 12lb flour and below unless you are just pitching.

Been using Daiwa T3 SV 8.1 for about two weeks.
So far only positive experience.
Exceptional caster, put around 60 yard mono with some backing ( didn't knot backing and mono), on long cast position, was able to cast all line out with Super Spook on it, had to ask a guy with the boat to get my bait back :D .
Nice Carbontex drag, really smooth.
Was able to throw baits from 3/16Oz range

Caught a nice 6.5lb bass on first time fishing with that reel,

Special BIG THANK YOU to forum members - Johnny A and ah_long for helping pick right model and do some upgrades on it!

How smooth and refined does this reel feel on the retrieve?

I am thinking about adding one for 1/4oz swim jigs, and am used to the feeling of a Calcutta TE for this presentation.

Thanks. 8-)

a dumb question here - is T3 SV safe for SW use? I tried searching but could not find concrete conclusion. If it is not SW safe, which parts are the cause?

Man, that bass looks huge. Not much of a pot-belly, but the length and size of its head seems way bigger than 6.5lbs to me.

I have a bad feeling I'm going to end up buying a T3 SV and ticking my wife off in the process.

I like these two reels. They each bring something unique to the game.

Met: long gap btwn spool and level wind, new SVS, micro gears.

T3: tws. Carbon frame. That spool, mag 3d

I hv a t3 sv 8.1 on its way from japan as we speak. I hope the build quality will not disappoint me the same as the 1st batch t3 1016 which I sold within a month of having it. My arsenal is primarily daiwa ;)

I wet the line on exsence dc couple weeks ago and I am very happy with its feel in hand and the casting. I cast it in stock form without even flushing the stock bearings. Cant wait to put the air bearings on it.

DaveJ

In the lake I mostly fish, it has predominately spotted bass population. LM are not really chunky here.
Most of them look skinnish. Probably harder for them compete with spots.
Maybe in spring time she was ~8lb. This is why I always have digital scales with me.

So far upgraded the reel with ZPI SIC bearings, haven't noticed any difference with stock bearings.

I hit up Fishing Marunouchi on purchasing a T3 SV 8.1L-TW and got the reply that it will take a few months wait.
Have they been low volume productions ?

I've seen them available at Plat but have been buying from Marunouchi for a long time now and prefer to stay with them

I'm guessing wait times for an FX68L wouldn't be any shorter right?
