Level wind bearings

Post by LgMouthGambler »

Level wind bearings for a Zillion or Tatula Type-R. Are they the same size bearings that can be found in the knobs of a Shimano reel?

The Tatula I know for sure are, 4X7X2.5 same as Daiwa and Shimano knob bearings. I can't remember what they are for the Zillion but I am thinking the same size.

I just cant seem to find the specs for either bearing to make sure that they are the same bearing. I have soo many of the knob bearings laying around and want to do a little upgrading.

Just tear it apart and see if it works. I am guessing they are the same size as the tatula knob/levelwind bearings. :big grin:

Hmmm. That gives me a good idea. I actually have the stock handle assembly from my Tatula Type-R. I could use those if the Shimano ones don't fit possibly.

The level wind bearings from the Tackle Trap that I have used for the Zillion and Fuego are bigger than the Daiwa handle bearings. I'm sure that you can find the dimensions by searching the forums. I've seen them on a few threads.

I have been studying the schematics for the Coastal and other Zillions, and the only bearing difference I see is the level wind bearing. Need to find the dimensions for that bearing. I hope the Shimano knob bearings are the same.

The Tatula level wind bearings and handle bearings are the same size. They are 4x7x2.5.

Well, the Zillion level wind bearings are not the same as the Shimano knob bearings, but for some reason I had a bearing, 1 to be exact, that fit. I don't know where it could of come from, but it worked. I went over to Mikes, from Hawg Tech, and put a swept handle with blue accents on it. Boy is it smoother than ever!

i did my zillion levelwind bearings awhile ago and, IIRC, they are 5x8x2.5 (not 100% positive though). the tatulas are 4x7x2.5 for sure.

I just did the worm gear bearings on my Tatula last night. Same bearings as the knob bearings. Put the darn thing together, but when I try to put the crank cover on something is making it tight. I cant turn the crankshaft. I don't know what the heck is going on. I will look at it again tonight.
