Megabass Shoreluck Limited

Post by Pen3 » Fri Jul 03, 2015 11:19 am

Anyone know what kind of blank these rods use or what they are similar to Megabass wise? I have been looking for a Med or MH 7'4-7'7 for medium to light texas/jigging and considering the SLL-74MHC,

I notice that the 15 Sherlock uses Mitsubishi's Pyrofil just like what 13 Fishing is for their Archangel blanks too.

"We are in fact using Pyrofil from Mitsubishi Rayon on a few of our blanks going forward. The first two rods you will see from us utilizing MR Pyrofil carbon fibers are the Archangel and the MUSE."

I guess there is only one way to find out if the blank is good.. I just ordered one. $300 doesn't sound bad for a Pyrofil rod and my IS79 needs a home anyways.

Yeah, that and the kanji writings look sick. Reminds me of the Gamakatsu rods that have kanji writings up to the first guide.

I have a Shoreluck SLL-68ULS limited I picked up on here for a steal. I can confirm they are ridiculously stunning and the torzite micro guides are tiny!!! I love that rod.

I have the Shoreluck SLL-68ULS Limited. I have put it through its paces. I am an avid UL angler and in a span of 2 months ordered 7 UL rods out of Japan last December. I love the Shoreluck. But I have to admit even though it has been tested on everything from 12 inch shell crackers to 21 inch Smallies I find it hard to use anymore. The rod just looks too darn good. I throw a 1/64 Trout Magnet with a size B split shot and get great casting distance using 2# test. Sensitivity is off the charts for me. I have rods that I paid more money for....I bought the Shoreluck for 240 bucks on sale......but it is the rod I try to protect the most....but it is a great rod.

My SLL-74MHC came in and it looks very nice. I wanted to go out this weekend to test it, but it looks like a super humid day... 93+ with no wind and nearly 90% humid.

Hey, Pen!!

You have described pretty much EVERY summer day in The Southeast Louisians Swamps.

( the secret is us Swamp guys have evolved and grow gills behind our ears. )

Where is the best place to get this rod?

I had one, but it was too nice to fish with. I was afraid I was going to break it walking through the woods. Great rod though. Very light, sensitive. At least someone on the board is enjoying it now !
