The Wait Was Worth It!
Ever since buying my first Exscence DC I knew I would be adding a second. Not having a rod to pair it with I searched out several US and JDM rods but I could not come up with the right fit. Decided that going custom was the best way to accomplish this. I have always been a fan of black and gold but since the Exscence DC has some shades of grey in it I knew I would need to incorporate that in there as well. I tossed a few gold trim pieces on the reel to match the rod and was able to create a pair that will spend many years together! Parts were sourced from Mudhole and Matagi to add further appeal. A special thanks to Vinnie for doing the build and knocking it out of the park!

That is really sharp looking. I've been contemplating another custom build lately. You may have just tipped the scales.

This will a dedicated jig setup. It will handle anything from 3/8 to 3/4 oz. I may use it for a other apps like paddle tail swimbaits on a jig head from time to time but this will be its primary use.i_am_R2 wrote:Awesome looking combo

Re: The Wait Was Worth It!
Thanks for all the kinds words everyone!
I forgot to mention a few other things in the original post that are worth mentioning so here are a few more tidbits
Blank: MHX Hi Mod 7'3 Heavy Fast Action
Guides: Fuji Alconite Series (wanted to keep the Black/Gold theme without incorporating much silver
Balance: Right on or ever so slightly ahead of the fore grip piece
The next weekend when the weather is nice I am hoping to get a few more pics of the outfit in better lighting as well as hopefully with a few fish too.
