Thanks! I wasn't too sure either. The handle was very expensive also. But I'm happy with it.

Few more of the Scorpion 70 XG.

Added 3 more bearings and some red parts:

After I saw that picture I went D7 hunting. I only got 3 and one D5
But the picture inspired me

That looks stunning LR! Can we get the scoop on the reel? Custom paint job and a few aftermarket parts or parts swapped from other factory Shimano reels? :-k

It's a Snapper variant of the Scorpion 70 platform, the Engetsu 100 PG. Shallow spool, clicking drag and micro mod brass gears. It's a neat reel. Heres a link to the thread: http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=70271

I see. Thanks for the link. I just read through that it sounds like a nice reel and nice pairing for that rod! I am holding out for the BFS Scorpion I think or possibly the Scorpoin 70.

The scorp BFS is going to go for Alde 16 money. That one is going to be hard to justify IMO. I wonder in Shimano has a yumeya spool in the works for the Scorpion 70 platform. That'd be nice.

No way, it's going to be around Alphas Air money. MSRP is only 35000 yen. Aldebaran is 46000
