**Megabass Warrock SL-70HC**

Post by Cristo » Wed Mar 01, 2017 7:51 am

What's up TT......I have the above being sent. Should have it shortly :D. Any folks out there have/had one? Shot from the hip but I like the specs from it and I like the fact that I can take it saltwater fishing which I like to do in San Diego. But really the the itch got me for something a little unusual. Pretty stoked I like the details on it double footed guides able to breakdown via offset handle. From the picture is the craftsmanship looks pretty spectacular. That's just me though should be a fun ride I'm hoping but I don't know a damn thing about it hahaha it's the best I could find on the net but will post pictures when it's rigged up. Price Shoulda pre-ordered a Orochi XXX haha

What an absolutely stunning rod. Although I'm a big fan of current generation MB rods, I love the older stuff. I've thought about getting something more salt specific to try out in freshwater. This has been thinking again...

That's kind of what I'm doing now. Don't get me wrong I like all the new stuff but I'm trying to get some more unique rods and some older stuff that I never got a chance to get before. Although I didn't land any fish today out of that yak it was fun to throw half ounce T Rigg(1/2oz tung, kinky beaver + 5.0 ewg) fluffy rubber skirted jigs half ounce plus 4.4" kietech crazy flapper. It has a very unique power curve and is pretty sensitive for the size of Rod it is. I have it spooled with 16lb sugoi florcarbon. I think this would be fun to throw the S Crank 2.0 and of course some other Magnum sized cranks or top Waters in the one ounce range would be cool too. Feels like it would be nice for heavier chatter baits and other bigger blades. I look forward to try another techniques with it. I do love the wrap work on the guides and just above the handle. The threads in the sunlight have an amazing pop to them. I have to honestly say this is probably one of the best wrapped rods I've seen megabass make..... at least that I've had in my hands. Simply... Artistry in my opinion. Anyway sorry for rambling but those are my thoughts of this rod so far. It has me pleased and will be trying a mutitude of other techniques. I see it getting a loy of work this year. Another Salt/heavy bass type Rod I'm looking at is the shadow double X's. There's an 8-foot offset handle one that looks pretty enticing. Oh and doubled footed guides \:D/

Those guide wraps are gorgeous. I'm digging the balance point as well. Should be a fun stick. =D>

Although i have yet to land a fish with this set up she is sensitive! So far i tried 1/2oz t rigging, bigger profile 1/2 rubber jigs with kinky beavers. Very nice there. Next is going to try 3/4 oz lipless cranks and the 1oz 2.0 S crank square bill.

From what I could tell I believe this is around 2008.....I stumbled upon it somewhere during rabbit hole research mission for it. I could be wrong of course. From my understanding it's a vertical style jig/blade rod for the ocean. Regardless I find her to be a great little find and thus far she fishes really nicely with techiques used so far. I just need to land a bucket, but that'll change as the season is just getting started for me. It should see a lot of time in the yak.
