Rapala Shadraps
I picked up a couple of these at a fishing yardsale. I believe they are the SSR07 size,,because they are defintely longer than 2",and its definitely under 3 1/2". There is a variance in weight though,,one weighs .17oz,and the other .19oz,without hooks on them. So after looking up the SSR07..it says it should weigh 1/4oz..,and be equipped with #5 trebles. Do you think adding the 2 #5 hooks will increase the weight to 1/4oz?

Here are some weights we took of #6 trebles from different brands... #5s are bigger and therefore heavier so you can draw your own conclusions:

Re: Rapala Shadraps
I would recommend you always change the #5 hook on the Rapala shad rap. They are a weak treble hook and will bend over a prolonged fight with a good size fish. They do not deserve to reside on such a fine bait as the fabled shad rap.
Owner #4 Stingers is what Rapala surely meant to attach to SR07 and SR08. They are the strongest treble hook available in this size range-that i have been able to find. Haven't noticed any decrease action of the balsa while using them.

36 for the SR07 and 41 for SR08. The rapala SR07 could probably handle the extra payload of the beefier owner 41 style if you really need it, but the 36 is already a really strong freshwater hook.
