**Megabass Black Jungle Deep Throat Custom**

Post by Cristo » Sat Aug 12, 2017 2:35 pm

took her out to a local test pond to throw what I hoped to be the better portion of my heavier cranks but sure got a whole lot more. I threw my whole box!!! I used 10lb P-line Floroclear even down for the 1/4oz smsll frys. I think that line is perfect for this rod no joke. Enough lightness to zip smaller cranks out and tough enough for 1oz 6xds. Aside from the bagley small frys (had to feather the spool quite a bit) everything zipped right out. I could feel all lures and thier differences. Really dug the 2.0 S-crank and the diving flap slap! It also handled my Deep Little Ns and DT-10s like a peach!. Not sure if it is circumstances and timing but how this rod has not gotten better attention is nuts. definitely a bad arce staff, the build is beautiful and all around amazing cranki g/reaction stick. I could see this salting in open water with TW!! Could be one hell rod for lighter glide/walking types. I am going to DS and Lighter bottom contact especially so no g plastics! :big grin: It has that kind of tip to me that will lend itself well to those...we will see though. I wouldn't hesitate to go a bit higher than 1oz especially for TW. I really feel like this could be the one as it throws what my cyclone throws and even more. Never thought my X4 Cyclone would be obsolete!! Don't get me wrong the Cyclone stays put but definitely don't need to have her out any longer :big grin: to me it definitely has enough backbone to fish submerged grass and in light cover I wouldn't hesitate being able to pull a fish out of the salad given the type of tip. it has give plus the power starts about the six guide so you get a nice Flex throughout the blank I don't have power shots of it curve yet. enjoy these though TT!

Course not scientific  as this certainly does not show the true nature of this blank but this gives you a rough idea Under full load and a lighter load hopefully. Definitely one of those multi loading type blanks. It does give me that feeling of the old Powell glass rods I was used to. real soft, kind of noodle, whippy would be how some would explain them I guess. In anycase i dig this rod and how it fishes, super versatile and I don't think it will be limited to reaction fishing is my opinion.

Only specimen boated. Lost a nice bucket with a skinny dipper at the yak. It had one last good shake that finally unbuttoned the 6/0 hook. Anyway the BJ DTC is a super sweet cranking stick. That is pretty much what I spent my time on. Love love this rod definitely a winner and the one for me anyway for cranking!!. Anyway I figure TW would have been popping off. Tons of bugs on the surface near the shore lines I hit. Big thanks again to MOA! I look forward to putting it through it's paces with some other techs....Enjoy fellow TTers :big grin:

Beautiful rod, nice length, love me some F5, great name...but personally, glass/composite is always a turn off for me. Great to hear you're experiencing nice feel with it. Maybe I'll cross the glass rod bridge again one day after all. But until then, I am really glad to hear you're loving it and that everything worked out!

Excellent review my friend. I'm actually in the market for one of these rods as I right this. I missed one a couple weeks ago at an awesome price. :crying: I'm sure one will pop up soon!
