What I can't imagine is how expensive it must be to ship a Gambler (or any high dollar bass boat) to Japan.
He could probably afford to have it flown in. ;)

Looking into getting a Monoblock...should I buy from jpangler or the jpmegabass website? Jpangler has cheaper prices but I'm wondering if it's better to buy straight from Megabass.

I'ld go with Kazu from jpangler. He's a great guy has probably the best prices , reasonable shipping rates cuz he gives the sellers shipping Discount from UPS and EMS right to his customers (unlike most japanese sellers) and is absolutely reliable.
Been doing Business with him for 5 years now and would not consider to buy at any other shop when it Comes to Megabass stuff.

Will second that 100%, whenever I buy anything overseas I try to buy Via Kazu first and foremost. Love everything about him and his company.

My newest addition. Freshly cleaned, greased, oiled, tuned and polished with Carbontex and YT Fusion bearings added. All done by Ian, the master. I just added the MB corks and now she's ready for her first trip.

RISE wrote:Finally finished the "family" with a pristine NIB Viola, Milano, and a Speciale. Just waiting on the Grigio Stone to show up, and can't wait for that Gambler!!
All are perfect, BNIB aside from the modded 100XR 6.8 SV w/90mm Ito CF handle which I've fished a few times, but is still minty. It's taken a long time to gather them all up, but it was well worth the journey IMO.
All handles have been upgraded to 90mm I'ze and Ito CFs
All original handles/parts/boxes are on hand as well.

Beautiful reel indeed, but...the Viola still reigns supreme IMHO.
HG68 is still the darkest, and closest to black out of the Monoblocks.
The Gambler is a unique color, in that the gold under-coat (anodizing) causes the top layer to have a slight dark olive green-ish tint. Very unique indeed.
I included one shot of the three darkest Blocks for color comparison. Hopefully it helps put things into perspective.
