Metanium MGL gear swap
Looking for feedback from those of you that have swapped gears in your met mgl to the curado K grass gears. Thinking of going that direction on an 8 gear MGL and wanting to know if it is worth the hassle and cost? Good and bad feedback appreciated.
Re: Metanium MGL gear swap
I think it was a good upgrade I did A Met. 13 and an MGL both left hand 8 to 1 ratio. Both of my reels were smoother afterwords.
Items needed:
1. Met Pinion Gear
2. Curado K Drive Gear
3. Curado K Fiber Drag Washer
4. Shimano Star Drag Grease
Easy stuff!

Would the upgrade worth doing to a new reel?

Thanks for the link
Re: Metanium MGL gear swap
Personally I don't get the point of using an aluminum gear in a flagship reel to save only .3 oz.

Re: Metanium MGL gear swap
I have a couple Met MGLs with the original gears and they don't feel geary after a couple of seasons of light use. I wouldn't upgrade until they start to feel that way.
