What's REALLY next for Daiwa
Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
The inductor looked big in one side shot of the spool. Wonder how much it weighs. Looks like they are calling it a 700 size on the spool.

I like the Millionaire and the Alphas SV 70. I wonder if there will be U.S. versions?

I hope so! They're releasing these things when the yen is going back up into the stratosphere.
This is the way.

Maybe. But why design a new frame and side plates then use spacers to suit the new spool? Odd!poisonokie wrote:Looks like a new frame and sideplates to me.LowRange wrote:prntscr
Looks like it will be a 103 sized Millionaire with spacers for the 30 mil spool. I don't know my Millionaire but have they always had a 103 sized and been that good looking or is this one special besides the 30 mil spool?
Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
Hmmm. Would be nice if spacers are used AND they fit other Daiwas for further spool options.

Well the millionaire is a 34mm spool so the spacers should fit all current steez reels, tdz, t3 etcDalleinf wrote:Hmmm. Would be nice if spacers are used AND they fit other Daiwas for further spool options.

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
I measured some of the reel dimensions from pictures and scaled them to dimensions of a Steez SV TW.
It appears that the new ct will be approximately 4 to 5 mm narrower overall width from sideplate to the tip of the handle knobs.
The t wing also appears to be 4 mm narrower.

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
I emailed with a Daiwa rep. and asked if the three new reels in the "Project T" videos were coming to the US. He stated that they had not heard anything about them coming here. This was a long shot for me as he may know and have been told not to say anything, or he really may not know. I am sure we will find out at the BASS Classic but that is ages away. That Millionaire sure looks good to me.

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
Considering the Millionaire is probably going to run in the neighborhood of 500 bucks, I'll only get it if it's indeed smaller. The 70 size designation is throwing me off, but from all the pictures I've seen it appears smaller. Yet somehow I doubt it is.

I’m liking the Steez CT, Millionaire and Alphas, can’t wait to see more!

Watch, the handle side spacer is 33 down to 30mm and won't work for 34mm reels...Dalleinf wrote:You are making me a little excited here...BARRAMANIAC wrote:Well the millionaire is a 34mm spool so the spacers should fit all current steez reels, tdz, t3 etcDalleinf wrote:Hmmm. Daiwa Japan website lists that all new Steez CT reels have 80mm handles.

Wonder if the 8.1 will have a 90mm handle.
