Not sure if you recall, but the OG Steez was $650 retail before they went to the EX models. What's $50 more for a more compact reel with a 30mm finesse-oriented SV spool? Just wait til the Yen goes thru the roof and they will be $800, maybe more......and in true TT fashion, we will still buy them.timinmo wrote:Well who wants a $700 Steez? Just saying.

Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Well anything is subject to change, and none of us really know what will happen with the Yen/Dollar relationship. I would hope it will not be that amount.
Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
I got into this stuff recently when the Yen was nice and weak, buying Pixies for $100 is all I have ever known. I don't know if I can stand a big bump up. So I guess I gotta stock up while I can....hoohoorjoo wrote:......and in true TT fashion, we will still buy them.timinmo wrote:Well who wants a $700 Steez? Just saying.

You havent heard about the yen? Their gov't is printing money on purpose to de-value the yen. Artificial inflation domestically will often have the opposite effect on monetary values internationally, at least in the short term. See how sharply the dollar has dropped in the last 3 months?timinmo wrote:Well anything is subject to change, and none of us really know what will happen with the Yen/Dollar relationship. Hopefully that self-inflation will catch up to them around March. Just in time to buy some reels. Will we see 120 yen to dollar this year?hoohoorjoo wrote:You havent heard about the yen? I remember when it was 81 yen per dollar. That was brutal every time I bought from Japan!Hobie-Wan Kenobi wrote:Hopefully that self-inflation will catch up to them around March. I have heard a few of you on here mention this, what is going on? Basically the currency exchange is turning worse slowly for us? I noticed on my favorite JDM site that a reel I bought is now $370, I got mine for $353. I should have ordered all the line I had planned a while back, not sure the price now on it.

That's why I bought 3 rods, 2 reels, and a spool in December.DirtyD64 wrote:I have heard a few of you on here mention this, what is going on?
