Steez CT 700XHL

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Steez CT 700XHL

Post by Bass1980 » Mon Mar 04, 2019 3:19 pm

Can't complain at all. It's a Steez and it feels smaller than a Pixy in hand. Clicking drag is a bonus which I think all finesse baitcaster should have came with one anyways. Quick little test but at 1/8 total weight CT edged out PXR. Too cold to collect any data as it's under 10 degrees F.

Excellent comparison pics, thanks for sharing them. Mine was supposed to be dropped of today but the wife decided to do an errands run at the time the mail lady came by. Ill have to pick it up tomorrow now. :crying:

Great comparison and first look. It makes the standard Steez look huge.

Very interested to hear more once you get to casting.

I am assuming that spool weight was WITH bearing right? If you mentioned it, sorry I was excited and scrolled past too fast. I really like that reel, everything looks good. I am assuming any standard 90mm handle works, even with the stock lock plate? If I save to get one, that is the only thing I would change. For me the 30mm spool's finesse ability is all the matters, but I do wonder about bombing larger lures like lipless cranks or even 3/8 TX rigs.

I'm drooling. Have you compared casting against an Aldebaren?

Might be an optical illusion, but it looks narrower than the Steez SV TW and the Pixy. Am I wrong?
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

You would be correct. Smaller width, roughly same length.

It's like an Aldebaran and a Pixy had a baby.
