Opinions on the Duo Realis 120SP?

Post by Samuel_b » Tue Apr 09, 2019 8:24 pm

I read some really good reviews on this bait on TW, and the paint and finish look really sharp and is apparently durable. The only negative I saw was apparently the 110 size fouls the front hook often on the cast, but the 120 had nothing but rave reviews. And I'm wanting a 120mm jerkbait to test along side all my Vision 110's lol.

I preferred the 100 size actually. The 120 SP is pretty good. I think the whole line of Duo Jerkbaits is a bit too loud. a silent model would be killer.

I've caught my best jerkbait fish on a Duo 120SP, it's the first jerkbait tired on every time.

How loud are the rattles? I have heard that complaint before. Honestly I still have yet to find a jerkbait that will get bit the way a 110 will in cold water. Had a buddy tie on every LC he had in his box and tried some spros and other stuff last week trying to replicate what I had going on but I must have doubled or tripled his catch ratio and caught all three of the big fish that day. I don’t have a problem spending the $25 but would just really like to find another bait that works well.

The 110 has a loud rattle just like a duo 120sp. They both sound like a one knocker rather than multiple smaller beads. I do a lot of jerkbait fishing & the duo 120sp is a winner. Sharp hooks, good color selections and a fish catcher.

Awesome thanks man! And to be clear we’re talking about the Vision 110? I prefer that setup to a multiple rattle sound like a rattle trap, my most hated bait to throw lol. Sounds like you throw them both how does it hold up compared to the Vision 110 and is there a temp or situation, ie post frontal, sunny, etc where you prefer one over the other?

Yes the vision 110. I like lc pointers the best for cold water temps. As the water warms up into the 50's I start to use the vision 110, 110+1 & 110+2 more and the duo realis 100sp, 120sp & 110dd. Some days you just have to keep switching baits to see what is most effective.

I've never compared the rattles to be honest.

Doesn't the 100 size Duo have a different weight-transfer system than the 110 and 120?

Phenomenal lure
I use the 120sp in summer in clear deep water
But it doesn’t matter when or where you use them they have SUPER sticky hooks , good transfer system and good paint.
They catch fish and I have them up there with the best of jerkbaits.
