'19 Vanquish 2500SHG
'19 Vanquish 2500SHG
'19 Vanquish 2500SHG. Feels VERY close to Stella smooth, but impossibly light. Supposedly 20g lighter than my same size Stradic CI4+ FB. I'll be fishing them both on Guntersville Thu-Sun. I'll try to give an idea of comparison after.
For the trip the Vanquish will be on a NRX 852s and the Stella on a CQ 842s. It should be an interesting comparison.

Love my new Vanquish 2500SHG. Shimano nailed it with feeling lightweight, smooth, and "robust." Wasn't sure how they'd improve over the 16 Vanquish, but they did.

I've been wishing Daiwa would make Zaion handles. Seems like an ideal application for that material.
This is the way.
Re: '19 Vanquish 2500SHG
I fished this and my Stella side by side in Guntersville last weekend. I caught on them both, but nothing huge. They are both super smooth, cast a mile, and perform perfect. The Vanquish feels lighter, but the Stella feels more powerful. I would feel more comfortably going for larger species than bass with the Stella before the Vanquish. They're both awesome.
Interesting note: I handed them both to my occasional fisherman father and when asked which one felt smoother, he said the Vanquish.

Is there a usdm equivalent to the vanquish?

Re: '19 Vanquish 2500SHG
These look so good and the few reviews I've read have been glowing. Strongly considering getting a C2000SHG for UL. Would be a huge upgrade over the Symetre 500 and 750 that I've used for many years. Haven't bought a rod or reel in a really long time and kinda want to spoil myself a little. The kid that dreamed of owning a Stella one day became a grouchy old man that could afford it but thinks a $700 reel for panfish is silly. This reel coming in at a way lower price point, lighter weight and with seemingly all the features of the Stella may have finally pushed me over the edge.
Re: '19 Vanquish 2500SHG
I know what you mean.
I feel like it's worth paying extra for larger spin reels like Saltigas and Stella SWs where they need to perform under heavier loads, and the smaller reels can be any reel (using Stradics at the moment).
But whilst I might use a big reel once a year, I use the Stradics almost every weekend, so maybe worth getting the Vanquish upgrade.
The C2500 would be a noticeable size difference to the 500/750 though if that's what you're going for.

I feel ya. I ordered a C3000 spool for the Stella so it would have the line capacity to pull some inshore salt duty.y2k88 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 11:32 pmI know what you mean.

The two really are brothers from another mother...

Just ordered a c2000SHG. It will be going on a Megabass Destroyer Addermine. It'll be a ned rig/whacky setup. This will be the first non Loomis rod I have bought in a few years.
