You have to have an affiliation with an existing vendor to get in. There is a $100 registration fee also.Reverendo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 4:40 pmHow can I get into i-cast?
I'm not in the fishing trade, per say, though I did sleep in a Holiday Inn Express... sorry couldn't resist. But seriously, I'd like to go. I do have a certification and side business as an archery instructor. Do you did I could get in claiming my interest is in bow-fishing? It would not be false.

Probobly the easiest method would be to make up business cards for your "bow fishing online blog" and fork over $450 cash at the door.
Re: ICAST 2019
Shimano has a 9 second ICast teaser video on Facebook with just the sound of a DC whine. Must be the SLX DC.
Re: ICAST 2019
I can't be the only one who dislikes the sound of the DC right? Even if it helps with casting, the very synthetic/artificial sound of it kind of turns me off. Just not the kind of sound I want to hear when I'm out in nature throwing in a line.

I'm digging that Coastal SV with the deep SV spool.
Re: ICAST 2019
Can’t stand the DC whine. Sold all my DC reels within weeks of taking possession.

I like the Coastal SV, but would need to swap out the T Wing like I did with my Tatula Type R.

Re: ICAST 2019
The Coastal SV is interesting. Daiwa has always used the SV spool with smaller capacity spools. Nothing larger than 103 (14lb/100m) capacity that I know of. This is like Curado 200 (20lb/100m) capacity with an SV spool. Very interested on how it casts.

Looks like my BNIB Alphas CT SV will be going up for sale.
Gotta fund some new purchases.

Re: ICAST 2019
You know I didn't even think about how the much more compact SV system would make it possible to place a non-fixed rotor on a deep spool like in that coastal.
This is the way.
Re: ICAST 2019
I've been wondering about this for a few years. The ID of the spool is still dependent on the OD of the inductor. You would have to design it in such a way so that the inductor when seated still resides outside the spool instead of seating into the spool if you wanted a truly deep spool. In the case of the new Costal SV it looks like they upped the spool diameter. 36mm maybe?poisonokie wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 7:53 pmYou know I didn't even think about how the much more compact SV system would make it possible to place a non-fixed rotor on a deep spool like in that coastal.

Hey E73Bass. Where is the new Zillion CT. Did your source screw up and say CT instead of HD or is the reel coming out at a later date.
