Daiwa asc spools now for sale

Post by Dalleinf » Tue Jul 23, 2019 10:25 pm

Just to let people know - I have seen some posts where people ask for it. Worth considering for pixy owners.

Pricey though. 50% of a complete reel.

The spool costs more than the cf/cork knob handle.

I'm sure this is posted somewhere, but what does this spool weigh? Also, what is going on the the bearing/bearing houseing? Never seen one like that on a Daiwa spool.

It's 9.15g including bearing and holds 40m of 6# fluoro.

Or about 80 meters of 8# braid. ;)
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Isn’t the ASC spool 32mm? Pixy is 31mm correct?

Add... whoa 😮 135 for spool that almost the cost of my pixy.

My alphas air come with this type bearing as well, micro bearing with sleeve on both side , spool/palm side plate.

No, it's 31mm as well. That's why all the pixy owners got so excited. There are pictures on this forum from people who fitted them into pixies right off the bat.

Thanks, I might have to think really hard on this one. How the ASC cast compare to regular Air?

It casts lighter baits better. That's about it. The spool inductor is fixed (not extended all the way out, just fixed) so it's really well controlled. It requires a bit of spool tension unlike Mag Z and SV spools for the sake of line management.
This is the way.
