TD-Z R+ Spool Question

Just got one in from Japan. The rotor is in the extended position and has spring tension pushing it out rather than keeping it in...never seen that. I fear I have a spool that has been incorrectly reassembled. I don't see any scuff or marks near the c-clip.

Sounds like they must've installed the spring underneath the rotor.

People do that occasionally, if the spool seems wild to them. This basically makes it a fixed-inductor reel. I've done that same thing to a Steez 103SH spool myself. At the time(before SV spools), it made a great skipping reel.

Got the c-clip off and it is all buggered up and missing parts #22 from the schematic.

I'll have to see if someone can put this back together. I have no tool to remove the pin on the spool shaft.

That pin should just slide out, it isn't a press fit like the other spool pin that mates with the pinion.

I have a couple of the red ramp blocks that slide in the grooves on either side of the rotor, if you need them.

Got a package from Hoohoorjoo and I'm up and running.

Just replaced the aluminum Type R gears with brass, added ZPI Sic bearings, and freshly spooled 12 pound line on the r+ spool.

Looking forward to seeing what this spool can do.

Getting the spring from under the pin was difficult. I created a tool to get it started over the pin and then was able to spin it off.

I found a q-tip jammed in the inductor is the perfect tool to depress the spring and hold the washer in place while I maneuvered the c-clip.

Took an hour total and was a bit frustrating at times but took a break and came back to figure it out.
