Daiwa Project T 2020

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Daiwa Project T 2020

Post by joekaz » Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:54 pm

The Project T Begins video is up on YouTube. The only thing that stands out to me are the two Tatula looking reels on Brent Ehrler's boat deck look like they have chrome thumb bars.

I saw the video and actually was disappointed as when I red 2020 in the title, the idea of a Daiwa Z TW 2020H came to my mind but guess I'm asking too much and I already have 5 Zs

First pic looks like a Steez CT frame. Maybe a trickle down?

It is hard to tell in that blown up blurry pic but the whole mag dial is visible. It looks like a Tatula 100 side plate.

I have noticed in the past the first kickoff episodes of Project T usually show some existing models.

There are a couple of shots where the palm side plate looks like the tatula with a Vector D logo instead of the "ghost" spider. I hope it is just the Tatula Elite.

An aluminum Zillion version of the Steez CT would be just fine with me. Throw a deeper Mag Z spool in it...

Yes, yes! Really wishing for ct sv tw Zillion. And 70 Size Magforce Z spool. Magforce V might be good in 70 size also.

I thought the only difference was the shape of the arbor. Is there something besides that to differentiate Z from V?
This is the way.

Those works similarly. Centrifugal force (against spring force) pushes inductor ring to magnetic field. Weights in V are in bigger angle than in Z, and therefore V might be better in light use.

No, I have one Z 2020H and 4 Z 2020SH BLACK LIMITED all converted to 6.2:1 and 100mm handles.

I wasn’t even aware of the existence of a yellow Z.
