Daiwa Project T 2020

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

i have found the tatula sv to work best for me, so that is a plus on this reel. the tatula really feels like the og fuego to me in hand, so i view it more from that perspective than "zillion is just a higher priced tatula".

Daiwa already have Zillion SV TW in 9.1 gear ratio.
Wasn’t really popular reel anyway.

They only released it in Japan though. Maybe the Revo Rocket seems to be getting decent enough sale for Daiwa to challenge it. I like my 9.1 Zillion SV. Idk if id take the plunge on the 10.1. If I was going to get a pitching/bottom contact reel, I would consider the 10.1 Zillion

Doesn't mean anything to me. 95% stuff I get is only released in Japan.
I do my best to convince more and more people who I personally know to buy stuff directly from over there.
Wish the majority on TT join me on that.

The 1516 Zillion 9.1:1 was >40"

I get it. I order a lot from Japan due to it usually being a better product for significantly less money. Only reel I can think of off the top of my head that had a better USDM counterpart was the PX Type-R, and that was overpriced.

That thing looks like it should have a muffler hanging off the back of it. It's clearly a muscle car rendition with stripes on the hood! :D All it needs is a Chip Foose fading paint job. :laugh1: I like it!

oh boy...more black reels!!

i'm not sure i need a reel that fast. i sometimes think i used to catch more fish when my fastest reel was 28" ipt.

i couldn't really tell much from the video, other than brake dial looks to be more protected. is this new zillion on the same frame as the tat elite/100?
No. Same frame as it is currently but with rash bumper provisions and a new, flatter, palming pate with recessed mag dial.

I believe the new Zillion is a 34 mm spool platform instead of the traditional 36 mm.
This means that probably, the new Zillion 10 will be a spin-off of the Steez A and that is a good thing.

The current Zillion SV is also 34mm. This new 10 looks to share more with the current Zillion SV than the Steez A

The side plate is definitely steez a/SVTW not zillion svtw, but the rest does look mostly zillion svtw.

I am waiting for these gears to be available for purchase. Would be nice if the 10 came out eventually in the 1516 for even more IPT \:D/
