Phenix Maxim II

Post by chrisg_sdcf » Sun Dec 15, 2019 9:12 pm

Has anyone tried the Phenix Maxim II and if so how is it compared to the original Maxim? I saw an icast video where they said the blank is supposed to be faster (not sure how much) and they changed the look of it but that's all I can find.

Haven't seen that one. Phenix is also releasing a new Ultra MBX with a full grip - half cork and half eva... And a new M2, 2nd generation M1 with a monocoque handle. Both look great imo.

I really liked the OG Maxim line, I used them quite a bit for shore fishing spots in the bays of San Diego in the way back.....

Yeah It seems a lot of people liked the og. Only thing I read about the og that some people didn't like was the reel seat. Phenix says the new version is supposed to be faster but I wasn't sure how much faster. I was planning on buying an og ML for light treble hook baits. I kind of liked the white in the og too but both look nice.

Just a 2nd generation M1. Not 2 different rods. Visit the Phenix website. It's on there.
