Best lipless crankbait in da business

Post by CheezusCrust » Sat Feb 01, 2020 3:29 pm

What is in your thoughts the best lipless crankbait on the market right now?

I want to buy 2 lipless crankbaits and fish them often but I dont want to waste my time on unhonorable mentions.

Most versatile is probably red eye shad or jackall TN. For yo-yoing deeper water I like the LC LV500 due to the heavier weight.

For the money it's hard to go wrong with the red eye shads.

Completely subjective, based on user experience. Here's my top performers in no particular order.
Spro Aruku Shad
Yo Zuri Rattlin Vibe

This post is solid gold, and you can put it in the bank. 100% hands down yo zuri rattlin' vibe. The original 9/16oz. version (not the 3DB).

Full disclosure - I hoarded a lifetime supply of XCaliburs in rattle and one knocker versions when they got discontinued some years back. They were brought back under the Booyah name but not in the same colors. I've compared the XCals & the Booyahs in both rattle and one knocker versions side by side, weighed them on a digital scale and did blindfolded shake tests to try and differentiate the sound profiles. IMO they're virtually the same bait, save for perhaps the hooks. Same weight, same sound. I'm in the minority as many disagree with me when I mention this but I'll stick to my guns on this one. I think if they had came back with the same colors there wouldn't be as many negative reviews. You can still get them in blue/chrome and black/chrome which are staple colors anyhow.

Next on the list for me are just about any Yo-Zuri/Duel offering. Very well made baits with decent stock hardware that produce as well my XCals

Jackall TN or LC LV 500. If burning above shallow grass the LV may be too heavy. I have some of the duo lipless but haven't caught on them. Never tried the megabass.
