Couple trophy speckled trout caught on a swimbait on the last 2 trips. Jackall Rhythm Wave has been catching some monsters! First fish went just under 8lbs, second was over 9 and measured 30 1/4”.

^^Wow, Jeff! That's a gator!^^
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

She was mean too  They don’t get much bigger than that around here. She will definitely be getting a replica made.

Are those big trout good eatin, or is that sacrilege? I always see the guys on TV giddy about keeping the small keepers for dinner.

The smaller keepers taste much better than the bigger ones, and meat is a little tougher on the bigs. It’s ok to keep one, but most people don’t. I never keep trout since I just eat flounder and snapper all year.

Agreed, flounder and those smaller mangrove snapper are fantastic table fare!

24" chain pickerel, pretty respectable size for these parts.

Nice. I crushed em on the this last full moon also. The fish fight so hard because they are so healthy and fresh. They were knocking slack in my line with the swimjig.

Yes! So much fight in them. I found myself howling at the moon on a couple of occasions when one came off. Overall, it was a great full moon this Feb so far, however.
