Reel Pairing for MB Destroyer Javelin
Any suggestions on a high end reel to go with the javelin? Think I read somewhere people mentioned ideally you’d want a 7oz+ reel. My first thought was to put one of the new metaniums on when they come out. Not sure if that would be the best fit though. What does everyone think?
Will be going with a 7.1:1 ratio for versatility.

MB IP 68 or a Daiwa Morethan PE TW 1000 7.1

You should get some promising feedback. Remember dont sleep on older platforms

I had a Javelin and paired it with a Bantam MGL. It balanced nicely with the rod.

I have a sv103 on mine. Balanced right on the lockdown nut. Sweet rod, very versatile.

Daiwa Millionaire Green Club M sits on my Javline for single hook moving baits.

It's based off the Steez A platform. I had an XXH model and it was the smoothest reel I have owned (IP68, Met MGL, Bantam MGL, Aldebaran, Steez A, Steez SV TW).jerkbait22 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 7:13 amIs the morethan a JDM Steez A? What platform is this based off of?

You might want to wait for the new conquest 100 dc to come out in a few months. It comes in a 6.8:1

I have fished a Steez A on mine quite a bit and really enjoy that combo. I put a Tatula Elite Long Cast on it and even though it isn't really a "high end" reel, it is an an awesome match for the Javelin.

Funny that you mention the Tatula Elite, because I was thinking of doing just this. I'm more a Shimano guy although I do have a Steez A TW on a FMJ that I enjoy fishing. I was reading reviews on the tatula elite and was surprised to see folks commenting that it will outcast a metanium. I did a little more research last night and read it was designed for distance casting - which seems to make sense with the Javelin.
Does it palm the same as the Steez A?

I'm telling you, that Tatula Elite Long Cast is a sleeper, they nailed it with this one. The distance with ease and control is very impressive. Yes, it feels practically the same as Steez A when palming.jerkbait22 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 2:40 amFunny that you mention the Tatula Elite, because I was thinking of doing just this. I have one with a LIN 10 and another with a Monoblock. Both palm and balance very nicely. I also sometimes use a TD-Z.
