Any 2020 Shimano reel leaks.....

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

When do you think the Metaniums MGL 2020 reels will be released?

From most dealers is what I'm reading it March for right hand and April for left hand.

I don't want to wait until April for left hand....

Any thoughts on whether I should grab the 2020 Met if I already have 3 Bantams and all of my rods balance better with a heavier reel? The cost of the new Met includes a new rod too that'll balance better... I could save myself a good amount of cash if I pass on the Met (for now)...

Who thinks the casting distance of the 2020 met will be greater than the met MGL?

I like the antares but the weight of the reel puts me off.So the met is the only option in my opinion

I'd rather have a balanced rod than a rod that feels tip heavy due to the reel being too light. Those bantams are solid reels too, just save the $$, or just wait for more reviews before making a decision.

Balancing the rod/reel combo is easy. Buy some black rubber chair leg covers the same size as your rod butt, add enough lead inside the butt cap to get the combo to balance and the midpoint of the reel, and tape onto the butt with black electrical tape. Once you have your setup balanced, you won't even notice if it's heavier, because it is no longer tip heavy.

Has anyone received this reel yet? It’s almost taking so long that I’ve actually lost interest in it , lol. I know digitika or Japan lure shop has no stock. “FISH HOOK TERRY” on YouTube has the only unboxing I’ve seen so far, can’t remember what site he said he ordered from

Thinking about it, but I really want to try out the new Metanium.

I have a GLX 842 that would go perfect with a new Metanium....
