Steez SV and Steez LTD
Steez SV and Steez LTD
They look identical ( with the exception of color) and have to same gear ratio, any performance differences that you have notices between the two?

I know I like the spool in the LTD better. The gears are also a hybrid. Brass teeth with aluminum for the rest. Reduces weight and gives the brass-on-brass smoothness.

Will the gear set out of the LTD work in the SV?Hobie-Wan Kenobi wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:31 amI know I like the spool in the LTD better. The gears are also a hybrid. Brass teeth with aluminum for the rest. Reduces weight and gives the brass-on-brass smoothness.

Honestly I think the steez ltd is one of the all-time great reels. Super versatile, light, smooth, and looks good (though thats subjective).

I really liked mine. All the above is true. I never had problems with the finish like others have. I sold mine like an idiot.

Was the spool good with lighter baits? (1/8 and up?)Hobie-Wan Kenobi wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:31 amI know I like the spool in the LTD better. The gears are also a hybrid. Brass teeth with aluminum for the rest. Reduces weight and gives the brass-on-brass smoothness.

I'd say so. I did use HH bearing in it so, may be skewed.chrisg_sdcf wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 4:36 pmWas the spool good with lighter baits? I still have the spool. I havent used it in a while. I know the spool is capable with 1/8oz. I prefer using BFS gear for that weight. The spool is capable but, I have other tackle that handles the lighter weight.

Re: Steez SV and Steez LTD
I've definitely noticed a difference in the spools. I run the Steez SV105 limited spool in 3 of my reels. My favorite of the bunch is the SV limited 6:3:1, the Steez with the orange highlights. For whatever reason, it feels more like the OG to me. More solid and refined. Whereas the USDM Steez SV103 feels a little more like a hybrid mix of an OG and an SS SV.

Yeah I get ya. I mostly throw around a 1/4 or heavier but like to know what a spool is capable of. ThanksHobie-Wan Kenobi wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 4:38 pmI'd say so. Do all 3 reels perform differently with the sv105 limited spool?Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 5:02 pmI've definitely noticed a difference in the spools. Re: Steez SV and Steez LTD
Hmmm....Does it have the brass/aluminum gears? I think it does.
Shoot, just add a 90-100mm handle and YOLO.

Re: Steez SV and Steez LTD
Little bit faster start up. Not as liquid smooth on the cast. I'd stick with the 103 for heavier baits.chrisg_sdcf wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 5:33 pmDo all 3 reels perform differently with the sv105 limited spool?Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 5:02 pmI've definitely noticed a difference in the spools. Re: Steez SV and Steez LTD
I’m also asking because I believe that the 7.9:1 gear ratio is the most popular gear ratio and I see people put that particular gear ratio in many of the Steez platforms.
I have Two of the STEEZ SV 103XS reels one with a REAL FOUR 1016G1sv
spool and the other with a RCS1012 purple SV spool. My LTD’s have a Kahen and Blue Emblem spool. One for each.
I’m moving things around currently and spool changes.
I have a birthday coming up
