Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Got the chinese spool from ebay. They're pretty much gen one Ray's Studio spools for $17. Comes with a garbage bearing, but i've installed one from ZPI and its all good now. Wont be able to use it until Spring, tho.

I don't think these have been posted yet.
Rays Air Brake type 30 mil spools for the new CT reels.

Zillon TWS spools are back toohttps://www.aliexpress.com/item/32260387795.htm ... 1978dba940

Got mine today.
Weight is exactly as specified, 7.9g. Quality is good, like my other Ray's spools. Spool seems very quiet.

Hello, Friends!
Anybody ordered these spools for Steez/Zillion/Ryoga:
http://ali.pub/4mkncw
http://ali.pub/4mkndh
Is it Rays spools? Why it cheaper that usually (17-19$)?

I bought the ones in your fist link through Ebay for like $17. Replaced the crappy original bearing to a ZPI one (a collar is needed for the bearing). Haven't tested it yet since its still freezing, but the spools seems fine. With the zpi bearing/collar, the total weight is 11.3g, so its not exactly very light. For the price, tho that's very good. Will most likely use it for walleye with 8-12lb braid.Loafer wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2020 12:02 amHello, Friends!

It's funny how quickly we get spoiled. Not long ago, 11.1g WITH the bearing for under $200 would have been miraculous. Now you can get one for under $20 shipped with a bonus fancy CNC'd aluminum container and we are like, "meh..."SSS wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 3:17 pmI bought the ones in your fist link through Ebay for like $17. I bought 4 new relatively cheap 34mm spools off of AliExpress this winter (including one each of these actually), but due to CoronaVirus I haven't even gotten to try them out yet.

Amo goodies. ZPI M like fixed inductor spool?
https://m.aliexpress.com/item/400080413 ... 8f0&is_c=N
Bunch of Alphas color bits. Color mag dial, color thumb bar, crazy drag star.
https://m.aliexpress.com/item/400059276 ... 0592760462
They also have Millinaire 1000, 2000 and Abu 2500 spools. Seriously thinking about scratching a BFS retro round reel itch and sticking one on another Teton.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Does anybody now any aftermarkt spools for the Daiwa Pixy, Presso, PX68 platform?
I know the PX-68 Finesse Special spool and the DIY from Aliexpress: www.aliexpress.com/item/32827786438.html
I'm aiming for something a bit lighter and a bit more shallow, with the <6g spools from RORO and MOMO in mind...
Thanks for your help!

I think your best bet is an Alphas Air Stream custom spool. They're 31mm. That or wait to see if someone makes a fixed inductor Aliexpress spool for the Pixy.fishinblack wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 3:16 amDoes anybody now any aftermarkt spools for the Daiwa Pixy, Presso, PX68 platform?

Color knobs for zero adjuster Steez SV TW and Steez A only. I guess the Tatulas are different?

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
They also have DIY spools for those weird non-Daiwa Daiwas. They're a 32mm spool that comes in under 9grams with bearing. My Momo Black Max 3 spool was 9.5 grams with bearing and it is absolutely UL BFS capable. Not a bad buy if you can get an 80 size reel for cheap enough. Stock spool is over 17 grams. $35

There is also this silly thing. It is a spool from one of the many cheap BFS reels on the site. This one has an air brake like mechanism in the spool. If the DIY spools were to incorporate this then you could have SV like spools for Abu and other linear magbrake reels.
