Plastic broken piece inside SV Spool

Hey Guys,

So I noticed my Steez SV103XS was reeling kind of stiff.
I then noticed the sound of something broken or moving inside.
I opened it up and 2 small white pieces fell out, after examining, I realized they broke off the inside part of the SV Spool and don’t know how it could have happened.

I threw my IS71 spool inside the Steez and it spun beautifully so it’s the spool causing the problem for sure.
It’s breaking way to fast and seems very stiff and not smooth at all.

What are my options? Is this fixable or do I just have to get a new spool?

How does this even happen?

The reply in the other thread said it can be a pain to change out if your not handy.

I mean, I’m handy with other things but never worked on a reel. Do I need specific tools to fix this?

How much of a pain are we talking here?

Wish there was a video considering I have never done anything like this before.
I’m sure it’s not rocket science but not knowing where things go after they fly off might be an issue. Lol

Wish I lived in the states, I would of just paid that $18 to get fixed.

It's rather straight forward, just don't loose the retainer clip and disassemble it all in a clear plastic bag to catch any jettisoned parts.

How it happens... Chinsy plastic, coupled with shear forces and a cup that both acts against rotation forces and magnets - possible it grabs somewhere at some stage of the spool generating to 30,000 revolutions or so.

Rather than those two pins holding it really needs some form of key between the spool / shaft and the plastic in a mild interference guise.

I see, chinsy plastic is never a good idea but obviously a cost effective one.

Ok, ill eventually tackle this when I order the part and it gets shipped but is there any diagrams or videos that show at least where the parts go in the spool in case I don’t see before they pop out?

Also, do I only need one of those replacement pieces?

I agree, receiving something from China is literally what I’m trying to avoid these days.
That being said, the parts Daiwa or someone else other than China use obviously got them from China.
The shipping would be a nightmare at this time.

When you take the spool apart, work inside a plastic bag, those small parts are prone to try and get away.
