Daiwa Sv103 magnets not engaging

Post by Obz » Fri Jul 17, 2020 3:26 pm

I sent my reel to daiwa because of gear problems, got it back and the magnets aren't engaging. If i crank the spool tension it will slow the spool down but the magnets are doing nothing. Any ideas?

Maybe they removed the brake dial and reinstalled in incorrectly.

Mark the magnets and watch as you adjust the dial. The inner ring should not move. If it is, you will need to remove and epoxy it in place.

Haven't had that issue on newer models. But I have fixed to old TD-Zs.

You nailed it. The inductor spins because that ramp is broken. I compared it to a working reel. Thanks man and thanks to the rest of you guys for the info.

If needed; Ray's DIY inductor repair kit:

(Price of those has climbed up since I bought).
