This particular part is a hybrid plastic part in the new Meta, I took a screen shot off somewhere and posted it, everyone's seemed to have accepted it.

Just got this reel last week. Have to say it's VERY impressive reel as I'm a huge Daiwa fan.
Long casting, solid and quite small when palming. And those brass gears are lovely! =D>
