Zillion sv TW 1000

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

No more protruding mag dial! Not too keen on the thumb rest area with the drop down. Hopefully it is more comfortable than it looks.

Now that looks interesting. I hope my crypto investment bounces back so I can buy one.

uh-oh, looks like Daiwa has went down the same path as Shimano, with their take on Micro Module gearing. Lets hope this isn't the case, but it looks and sounds like it. I won't be an early adopter, but the reel is aesthetically pleasing, though somewhat muted with the lack of color.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

What's the SV Boost? The reel itself looks like it would palm like an old TDZ which is nice...just probably a little lower. Add a silver star, silver SLP knobs and I am good. :)

Daiwa has had micro module gears with their hyper mesh gears in the Ryogas. Supossedly smoother than a Conquest but the only review I have heard here is that one developed a tick after fighting a barramundi and that his old gen Ryoga gears held up better.

Not sure this reel has hyper mesh. The gears appear to be aluminum which is a little disappointing. What is the verdict on the Steez aluminum gears? Do they hold up and hold their smoothness with use or do they get geary/buzz over time?

As a Daiwa man through and through, this is tough to say.

I'm leaning toward a Metanium MGL.

Need to see this in person but not a fan of the frame top shape. As much as I have had great success with Daiwa's aluminum, I'd like to see brass is a Zillion.

Daiwa's handles, specifically the nut and lock plate are not very appealing.

Per translate:

A newly designed gear system for bait (both shafts) reels that pursues strong and smooth rotation. The module (size) of the gear teeth, which is directly linked to durability, has been improved without reducing the size. DAIWA's unique technology that realizes long-lasting initial smoothness.

Says they didn’t reduce size, maybe all will be well???

If that is accurate, this one will certainly be on my radar.

I notice the handle is new. It has beveled edges.

The handle looks similar too, and the digigear =D>
Curado had a baby with robocop, and the baby was adopted by daiwa.
