Zillion sv TW 1000

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Is the zillion on an updated tatula frame or does it share the same frame as the steez?
Appears to be its own new platform

What is this attached to the spool bearing? Daiwa's version of Silent Tune?

This new zillion looks like it borrows a lot of design features from shimano. I wonder if this is one of them.

Sorry I misread, he said brake dial obviously not a drag star. I guess I am allergic to loose drag stars lol.

Meaning that it won't move easily if touched or held with your fingers. I've had issues with other reels with the same dial placement.

Never had a baitcaster with aluminum gears but the ones on pictures at the jpn Plat website looks solid, non-micro and must surely do for my intended perch and walleye fishing. Good to read that Daiwa hav'nt had massive alu-gear issues.

Conteplating about If I should drop the 2020 Tatula SV TW 103 idea and go 2021 Zillion 1000 - it really looks good, the SV-boost intrigues me and it will save me half an ounce... but no money... ;)

Being made in Japan will help justify some of the cost increase... also it looks like they are stepping up level to compete with the Bantam/Metanium area rather than the Chronarch area. I want to get one, but if the older Steez prices drop out it would he hard not to get another one of them. I could see the Steez A becoming obsolete after this, I love mine and got a fair JDM price but had to add knobs and a spool. For that extra cost, getting a new Zillion or Alphas might be the better move.

Either way, really excited to see Daiwa's new reels. Also wanted to say my Steez A XH aluminum gears have held very tough and feel great after 2 years or so.

The lines within the Brand are handled separately ...I do not see the relation to the Steez price dropping due to this Zillion intro.

This is how I look at it.
Steez = Cadillac
Zillion = Buick
Tatula = Chevrolet.
