Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I saw that on the Daiwa Japan site. Also emailed Jun at Japan Tackle about release/pre-order. Pre-order should be soon.

Never had a baitcaster with aluminum gears but the ones on pictures at the jpn Plat website looks solid, non-micro and must surely do for my intended perch and walleye fishing. Good to read that Daiwa hav'nt had massive alu-gear issues.
Conteplating about If I should drop the Tatula SV TW 103 idea and go 2020 Zillion - it really looks good, the SV-boost intrigues me and it will save me half an ounce... but not money...
Steez A is an amazing reel, I've put so many hours on this thing from the "crazy cranker" up and they are smooth and solid even after a lot of use, and YES, I do properly maintain my reels.
Of course, I'm excited to check out the new technology Daiwa is bringing to the SV game. I'm always one to try high end new technology before I start complaining about how something looks or drawing useless comparisons when I haven't even actually had it in my hands and fished it, but hey, that's just me

Suggested MSRP from yen is 410$. Digitaka is listing it 350$ when it comes in stock. Won't be cheaper in the US.

This isn't directed at you personally, but fortunately, bottom line price isn't the only consideration for everyone! A lot of folks still like to support board sponsors, or better yet, real brick and mortar stores in the US that provide warranty service, first hand knowledge, etc. There is intrinsic value there...
E73Bass - no idea at this point, but we'll see...

I dunno about this one. It looks ok I guess but at first glance I'd of thought it was a Shimano, and not very interesting.

The only way this dual stage SV Air Brake makes sense is if they change the spring to a non linear spring. Which is actually an excellent idea. A spring that is soft initially to get controll at low spool speeds for skipping ect but then becomes a stiffer spring the more it is compressed. I'm guessing it is a normal Air Brake but with a dual rate spring. I'm going to have to play with this on my SS SV spool.
Gotta be the spring or the SV ramp has a shallow to steep angle transition now.
Appears to be a dual rate spring. GIF 4 on insta shows the inductor being pulled in and out and it clearly shows that it takes more effort to fully exfend it than it does to just partially extend it.

Looks like it has clicking drag sound (when line is pulled out).

Being made in Japan will help justify some of the cost increase... also it looks like they are stepping up level to compete with the Bantam/Metanium area rather than the Chronarch area. I want to get one, but if the older Steez prices drop out it would he hard not to get another one of them. I could see the Steez A becoming obsolete after this, I love mine and got a fair JDM price but had to add knobs and a spool. For that extra cost, getting a new Zillion or Alphas might be the better move.
Either way, really excited to see Daiwa's new reels. Also wanted to say my Steez A XH aluminum gears have held very tough and feel great after 2 years or so.
The lines within the Brand are handled separately ...I do not see the relation to the Steez price dropping due to this Zillion intro.
This is how I look at it.
Steez = Cadillac
Zillion = Buick
Tatula = Chevrolet.
Totally agree, I just meant that some of the Steez reels are getting older now, and they WILL clear stock. I figure the Steez A doesn't sell very well, and the larger original SV TW has been outdone by the CT series.
