Daiwa 2021 RODS

Post by goldrod » Fri Dec 25, 2020 6:59 am

Just saw the YouTube video with T Namiki on the new Steez rods
I really hope they make them available here like they did the bottom contact.
Anyone else excited or am I late to the party as always

Don’t think you’re late. I saw the first videos on IG yesterday. The entire jdm steez line is getting a full reboot. Couple of observations based on 1 second clips which may or may not pan out—looked like a blend of EVA and cork grips, which was nice. Handles looked a little too much like world shula for my liking. Not that I haven’t eyeballed those for years, but just would prefer something different rather than recycled. May end of being wrong when I get a better look.

The 6’10” harrier looks interesting

Maybe it was lost in translation for me but any updates coming to the Racing Designs for 2021?

No; I did not see anything about those. Maybe an addition is still to be announced?

It’s a new reel seat. A hybrid between the original air beam and newer generation Airsensor technology. Air beam was a heavy reel seat, the new one blends the unique style of air beam with the lightness of Airsensor.

The other big thing is that it is an offset reel seat like the old air beam. Not a normal centre bore.

I have last year's 6'10 medium - I forgot the name of the model. Anyways, I absolutely love it. Probably the most versatile stick I've owned. Similar to my 7ft medium Point Blank with a little more power.

What do you use it for mostly?
Please list the specs
Thanks in advance

maybe i would like it. i love the air beam seats. something with the lockdown on the rebellion, and the length of the seat. it ends up bunching my fingers up and they start hurting
